Formaldehyde Testing Services

By definition, formaldehyde is a colorless pungent gas made by oxidizing methanol. It is a severely flammable gas that has a very strong odor. There are many health risks associated with formaldehyde and it can be found in many consumer products. Prolonged exposure to high levels of formaldehyde can lead to many serious health conditions such as different forms of cancer.

Prolonged formaldehyde exposure can cause cancer, but there are early exposure symptoms that can serve as an early detection warning such as:

  • Skin irritant
  • Bloody nose
  • Nasal & throat irritation
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Headaches

Formaldehyde is included in many of our everyday products that we use regularly including cosmetics, plastic water bottles, gas stoves, cigarette smoke, and fabric softeners.

There are regulations and programs set by the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) to protect people from excessive formaldehyde exposure.
